In the hard-to-reach communities of Balaka district, adolescent girls and young women are harnessing the power of digital media and gadgets to transform their lives. With limited resources and societal expectations, these young innovators are defying odds to acquire new skills, enhance their entrepreneurship, and advance their education. With the knowledge they have gained through various trainings give to them with the media partner of the TEENS Project, Viamo, they have been utilizing platforms such as Udemy, Trace Academia to access courses on entrepreneurship, technology, and creative skills. Not only that but also leveraging apps such as Khan Academy for self-paced learning. Keeping in mind of the importance of financial freedom and economic empowerment, the girls and young women that have small businesses or planning on have one have been exposed to online platforms that can help sell their products, gain new skills on marketing but also join other communities that have liked minded people where they can get mentorship. These platforms include but not limited to Facebook marketplace where they sell their businesses as now business can be done inter-city. Adolescent girls and young women in Balaka are redefining their futures by leveraging technology for social impact. By acquiring new skills, enhancing their entrepreneurship, and advancing their education, they are breaking barriers and creating opportunities
