Know What We Do
Foundation for Civic Education and Social Empowerment (FOCESE) is a distinguished and registered youth organization in Malawi. At FOCESE, we are driven by a steadfast commitment to fostering positive change and empowerment among vulnerable and excluded young individuals, with a special focus on adolescent girls and young women at the grassroots level
Recognize
We recognize the importance of self-reliance among young people. Through sustainable livelihood activities that generate income and social capital, we empower young individuals to attain better living standards. Additionally, we strive to increase the active participation of young people in decision-making positions and popularize the principles of democratic practices and good governance.
Promote
Our organization is committed to promoting gender-equitable social norms, attitudes, and behavioral change at both community and individual levels. We work tirelessly to prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG) and Sexual Gender-Based Violence/Harmful Practices (SGBV/HP), while also advocating for women’s and girls’ SRHR.
Empower
We believe in empowering women and girls, strengthening their agency, voice, and participation in critical areas such as Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Education, and combating Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). By breaking the cycle of poverty and violence, we aim to help women and girls build economic alternatives and claim control over their lives.
